Like us on Facebook to see similar storiesPARMA, Ohio (WOIO) - In the midst of the coronavirus crisis, the Greater Cleveland Food Bank is here to help with a drive-thru distribution.The event is taking place rain or shine from 2-5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, in the parking lot of Parma Senior High School at 6285 W. 54th St.According to the Food Bank, it is “implementing safety measures for our staff, volunteers and clients to ensure that this event runs smoothly and achieves its purpose – get food to families, seniors, and individuals who need it.”Anyone in need of food assistance and anyone who is not served at the distribution is encouraged to call the Greater Cleveland Food Bank Help Center at 216-738-2067 to find the nearest distributor to where they live.Please give an overall site rating:The Greater Cleveland Food Bank said it plans to distribute a combination of fresh produce and one box of shelf-stable food per family.Several hundred of their partner programs are still open and ready to serve those in need in their neighborhood.Anyone who plans to attend will need to follow the following guidelines given by the Greater Cleveland Food Bank: We are currently NOT accepting client walk-in visits outside of our on-site distribution days.
The Cheesecake Factory will donate $1 from every slice of cheesecake sold to Feeding America and local food banks today.

CLEVELAND — The Greater Cleveland Food Bank is hosting another drive-thru distribution on Thurs., July 23 from 2-5 p.m., rain or shine, at the Muni Lot. If you have other needs, please contact our Help Center at 216.738.2067. Watch this video to learn more about how we fight hunger in Northeast Ohio.Call Our Help Center at 216.738.2067 to apply for SNAP and other programs.The Food Bank launches its first Senior Markets, which provide nutritious meals to help seniors live healthier and more nourished lives in their own homes. Last year alone we supported almost 1,000 partner programs and over 300,000 people in our6-county service area who don’t always know where their next meal is coming from. Our Help Center opened its doors to assist clients over the phone with filling out SNAP applications and additional benefits, as well as refer them to emergency food in their neighborhood.Watch the video below for a behind-the-scenes look at the Food Bank.We also prepare nutritious meals in our Food Bank Kitchen and take hundreds of calls a day in our help center, where we refer low income callers to local agencies and sign-up eligible Northeast Ohioans for the SNAP program and other benefits.But the fact remains that 1 in 6 people in our community remain food insecure.
